The South still has a better chance of working out its problems
than the more urbanized
rest of the country, simply because more of us still know one
another's names."

Our local newspaper - The Advocate keeps everyone informed of current
events. The Flagship University - Louisiana
State University - has served the people of the region, the nation, and the world
through extensive, multipurpose programs encompassing instruction, research, and public
service. A former LSU President - William
Tecumseh Sherman - left LSU to fight for the Northern Yankees in the Civil War of 1861
-- 65 and made the famous, "Sherman's March Through Georgia" which helped to
defeat the South and their Cabinet. |

Select here for Irish to the Heart and Soul. My
ancestors - Jefferson Adams, Paul Jones and William Aldridge - traveled from Ireland to
South Carolina in the early 1800's. After the Civil War they
moved 60 miles from Baton Rouge to Pointe Coupee parish.

My late dad, Prince Adams (1917-1977) who loved to Coon Hunt -- married my Acadian "Cajun"
mother, Grace Dupre (1921-) whose ancestors moved from France to the Acadian area of Nova
Scotia, Canada then to Louisiana where they became known as Acadians or "Cajuns" |

I am 4th born of four sons and four daughters and I was
raised on the Atchafalaya River just as my parents were - 15 miles from where my
Adams-Jones-Aldridge ancestors settled in 1868. I have one son Jonathan Mark Adams and one daughter, Joycelyn Marlene Adams. |

Reading
I enjoy reading more than anything else in the world...all non-fiction...especially the
newspaper for current and historical events.

Sports
All sports are fun...especially tennis...and catching catfish on bush hooks...then coon hunting at night...and crawfishing during the
spring time for a "Louisiana Hot Sauce" CrawFish boil with Corn and Potatoes.

Computers
I enjoy Computers - which I learned about when reading a Sybex Publisher's book, "The
ABCs' to DOS." Now my career is in installing computer hardware and software, desktop
and networking applications, DOS and Windows.

Louisiana
has a republican governor - Mike Foster.
Also, the largest city, New Orleans
is a great tourist attraction with the street cars of St. Charles Street - but - remember
to bring your gun if you do not want to get shot by the (PP) project people - who love to
kill tourists.
