Southern hospitality...In our culture, music is a powerful way to touch people on an
intellectual, emotional and spiritual level. Because of this -- I have made a commitment
to selecting contemporary music with relevant messages. |

My first job was at the age of 12 in the 7th grade.
It started January 1st on a very cold and rainy morning at 5: A.M. delivering the morning
paper. The morning newspaper was The Morning
Advocate
![](http://www.theadvocate.com/flagpiece1.gif) ![](http://www.theadvocate.com/flagpiece2.gif) from Baton Rouge.
Then to make matters worse I later accepted the job of delivering the evening newspaper
from Opelousas, Louisiana -- The Daily World.

In high school I worked for the many area farmers and cattlemen
-- picking up heavy bales of hay in the field and loading them in huge barns.
Also, cutting and loading logs in the woods -- known as hauling
pulp wood. Setting huge round hoop nets in the Atchafalaya
River and picking them up very early in the mornings to catch
huge catfish, buffalo and goo fish. Very hard, cold and wet.
